The XFree86 Project, Inc. has been awarded $25,000 by IDG World Expo and Linus Torvalds for their work on the upcoming release of Xfree86 with Linux vendors like SuSE, VA Linux Systems and Red Hat. The award recognizes the project's contribution to the free software movement and the Linux community's desire to further open source software. The first East Coast LinuxWorld Conference & Expo will be hosted in New York City from February 1-4 and will feature over 150 vendors and seven conference tracks, with keynote speakers including Linus Torvalds.
