Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has announced that it has extended the functionality of its comprehensive eTrust Access Control for Unix solution to support Red Hat Linux. By protecting critical business and IT resources, the newest eTrust offering will serve as an indispensable tool for users of the Linux operating system, which has emerged as a leading platform for mission-critical applications and Web-based commerce. eTrust Access Control protects critical data and eBusiness applications with comprehensive security policies that prohibit unauthorized access. The advanced technology allows organizations to manage user access privileges centrally through a comprehensive graphical user interface, quickly deploy preconfigured baseline security privileges, and secure access to server-based resources throughout the entire organization. By extending support for Red Hat Linux, eTrust Access Control now offers simplified security management and enforcement capabilities for the industry's three most widely deployed eBusiness platforms: Windows NT, Unix and Linux. The newest eTrust offering, a core component of CA's comprehensive end-to-end eTrust server security solution, brings new levels of data protection to Red Hat's popular operating system, helping solidify its position as a viable environment in which to conduct eBusiness.
