Linux in Business Showcase: How Local Companies are Using Open Source Software to Solve Problems and Save Money

The Melbourne Linux Users Group is hosting a showcase featuring local businesses that use Linux to solve problems and save money. The event will be held on February 19th, 2000 at the Hilton Melbourne Airport in Melbourne, Florida.

Advance registration and a complete list of participating companies can be found online. The Linux operating system is open source and has been contributed to by thousands of dedicated programmers. It is reliable, secure, and free to use. The showcase will feature tabletop demonstrations of how businesses use Linux for various purposes such as routing, 802.11 wireless networking, streaming video technology, Intranet and business applications, bar code scanner systems, and high-performance computing technology.
