CompuMetric Labs, Inc. has released GPr, a new user-friendly interface that enhances the ability of Linux client applications to tap the full capabilities of all PostScript laser and ink jet printers. The graphical user interface of GPr makes it fast and easy for users to take full advantage of all printer capabilities, including advanced features for color control, paper handling, and finishing options, etc. Furthermore, one simple interface can now be used for all PostScript printers and with virtually all Linux client applications. GPr is open-source software that builds on a library of standard printing functions, libppd, which is part of the Open Source Printing Project on VA Linux Systems' (Nasdaq: LNUX) SourceForge[tm], the world's largest Open Source development center. CompuMetric Labs offers development services to assist printer suppliers and other organizations interested in providing enhanced Linux printing solutions. In addition, CompuMetric Labs provides Linux printer testing services, test suites, and support.
