Kaiwal Software and theKompany.com Sign Sponsorship Agreement for KWord Development

Kaiwal Software and theKompany.com have signed a sponsorship agreement to support the development of KWord, an open source word processor for Linux. The sponsorship includes two programmers for dedicated KWord development for two years, with salaries sponsored by theKompany.com and equipment and workspace provided by Kaiwal. Enhancements planned include filter development, keeping KWord up to date with ongoing KDE developments, integrating scripting facilities, and internationalization. All contributed code will be published under either the GPL or LGPL. The goal is to make KWord as stable, slick, and feature-rich as possible to give users strong incentives to migrate from MS Office and Windows.
