Linux NetworX and API have announced an agreement to utilize API's Alpha technology to deliver high-performance, Linux-based clustered solutions. The solution will provide customers with supercomputing-like functionality at much lower price points. This technology agreement makes it possible to give customers extremely high-performance solutions at a significantly lower cost of ownership when compared to traditional supercomputer alternatives. Organizations that will specifically benefit from this technology include high-end application service providers, Web hosting centers and e-commerce backbone providers as well as traditional high-end research, scientific and government organizations. These customers share common needs for large amounts of data computation, data handling and/or storage, high-speed communication and high levels of reliability and flexibility. API's products are ideal for today's high-performance clustering, rendering, Web server and e-commerce solutions. Linux NetworX uses the Linux operating system to create a reliable and cost-effective alternative to the supercomputer and server platforms for organizations demanding high performance and low failure rates. The agreement between Linux NetworX and API is expected to provide customers with access to the tools they need to leverage the significant benefits of cluster technology for compute-intensive applications.
