Penguin Computing Inc., a leading provider of reliable Linux systems for Internet serving, has opened a central regional sales office in Houston and hired Terry L. Stewart as central regional sales manager. The new office will bring Penguin Computing closer to customers in the region from the Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi and help the company better serve existing customers and win new ones. Stewart has 20 years of progressive sales and management experience, including 14 in Houston, and a thorough understanding of customers' needs for Internet servers and enterprise-class servers. Penguin Computing established an eastern regional sales office earlier this year and appointed Howard Johnston to run it. The company is based in San Francisco, Calif., and is privately held.
