Loki Software, Inc., a leader in bringing best-selling PC games to Linux, has announced an exclusive agreement with Epic Games, Inc. to maintain and support the Linux version of Unreal Tournament. Under the terms of the agreement, Loki will provide full technical support for UT Linux, offering new features, addressing any technical issues, and achieving revision parity with the Windows version.
The first update from Loki, version 425, is available today from the Loki website at www.lokigames.com/products/ut. There are no plans at this time to sell a retail box with the Linux version. Customers who want to play UT on Linux will continue to purchase the Windows product and download a free Linux installer from Loki's website. Loki has also secured the bundling rights for UT Linux, and will aggressively pursue OEM opportunities to bring UT Linux to more Linux users.
