VA Linux Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of VACM 2.0, a powerful and flexible Open Source software tool designed to enable easy remote monitoring and management of large clusters of hundreds of servers. The software features advanced monitoring and management capabilities, as well as a modular design that gives administrators added flexibility. Support and implementation of VACM 2.0 is available through VA Linux Professional Services' Internet Architecture and Custom Engineering Practices. The deployment of large clusters of Linux servers by ASPs, ISPs and other service providers is expected to grow rapidly over the next two to three years, and user-friendly, Linux distribution-independent cluster management tools will play a critical role in solving these problems.
