SuSE Linux 7.0 Alpha Edition underlines SuSE's technical superiority in server solutions by announcing the latest distribution for computers with Alpha CPUs. The port of the current SuSE distribution to Compaq 64-Bit-technology highlights SuSE's expertise as a leading provider of server solutions.

In addition to the Alpha platform, SuSE Linux also supports Intel and PowerPC as well as the SPARC and S/390 architectures. The distribution includes more than 1200 applications on 6 CDs and offers professional Linux solutions for virtually any purpose. It provides a wide range of database applications, developer tools, office and image processing software, and window managers. The package includes graphical user interfaces KDE and the current GNOME desktop version.
