Sendmail and IBM Join Forces to Provide World-Class Reliability and Scalability for Internet Messaging Customers

Sendmail, Inc., a leading provider of Internet messaging solutions, has announced a partnership with IBM to combine its Internet Mail routing and hosting software with IBM's Linux-enabled eServer family and software products. The two companies will develop, market, and distribute integrated Internet messaging solutions for service providers, Web hosting companies, and portals. By 2005, it is forecasted that 35 billion emails will be sent worldwide on an average day. This partnership brings together the software and hardware products and expertise needed to develop and sell solutions into highly demanding messaging environments. The agreement includes initiatives such as a platform solution for Sendmail's commercial Internet messaging solutions for all IBM eServers, marketing and distribution of these solutions, and enhanced security, reliability, scalability, and manageability in Sendmail's commercial product lines.
