Open CASCADE: Revolutionizing Orthopedic Device Development

The Center for Engineering Research and Transfer (CIRTES) at ESSTIN Engineering School in France has chosen Open CASCADE surface module to develop the surface editing functions of its OrthoStrato software. The software allows orthopedic technicians to easily modify the onscreen model of orthopedic devices, reducing delivery time for corrective devices from 2 to 3 months to an average of 48 hours and shortening production cycle by 50-70 percent in comparison with traditional methods. Open CASCADE stable version 3.1 runs on Linux Mandrake and Red Hat, Windows and Sun Solaris platforms.
