Trolltech is expanding its "Qt University" education program to provide a free site license for Qt/Windows to computer science educators. This opportunity removes a significant cost burden from today's cash-strapped universities and allows them to teach Qt in a Windows-based environment. Qt has already been selected as a teaching tool by more than 100 university computer science departments worldwide, with positive feedback on its cross-platform applicability. The program is open to any college or university interested in using Qt for teaching or research. Qt has been on the market since 1995 and has been used by leading companies such as HP, IBM, Intel, Siemens, and Ericsson. It is the basis for the popular KDE desktop environment included in every Linux distribution. Trolltech provides online documentation and tutorials to explain Qt programming step by step.
