SuSE Linux 7.2 is now available for download on June 15th. The latest version of SuSE's popular Linux package comes with more convenience and performance for desktop and server deployment. It features a new focus on security and multimedia entertainment. The SuSE Desktop, based on the graphical user interface KDE 2.1.2, has numerous improvements such as improved SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and support for Netscape Communicator plug-ins. Security issues are increasingly gaining importance for private users and professional users. SuSE Linux 7.2 offers a personal firewall with a mouse click and AMaViS (A Mail Virus Scanner) to eliminate viruses.
It also allows sensitive information to be stored in encrypted form. The service unlimited feature of SuSE YOU keeps Linux systems up to date with the latest security updates and bug fixes. SuSE Linux 7.2 includes support for Windows 2000 workstations in Samba domains and administration of the NT server manager. It also supports ext2, ReiserFS, FAT partitions, and NFS servers and clients. The LVM (Logical Volume Manager) is also included. SuSE Linux 7.2 offers state-of-the-art Linux technology such as the advanced Kernel 2.4.4, glibc 2.2.2, Kerberos5, YaST2 front end, and XFree86 4.0.3. It also supports the Euro symbol. SuSE Linux 7.2 is available for purchase from June 15th onwards.
