1st Linux and Free Software in Turkey Conference

The 1st Linux and Free Software in Turkey Conference will be organized by serbestyazilim.org.tr on 7-8 December 2001 at the METU Cultural and Convention Center. The conference aims to increase information sharing on Free Software philosophy, Linux and other Free Software products.

It is the first in Turkey and among the rare in the world. The conference will establish a platform for better promoting amateur works and Free Software people will gather. It will also deliver the message that Free Software is not unlicensed or piracy software as a public view, and stress that there is a way other than intellectual property infringement to be able to use software for professional purposes and also to implant software ethics. The conference aims at both end users and organizations and firms with hands-on experience on the power of Free Software and aiming to encourage everyone to use and to develop Free Software.
