Apogee Software and LynuxWorks Partner to Offer Aphelion IDE for Developing High-Performance Embedded Java Applications on LynxOS

Apogee Software and LynuxWorks have announced a partnership to offer the Aphelion Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developing high-performance embedded Java applications on the LynxOS real-time operating system. The IDE offers advanced tools that remove obstacles hindering the use of Java for embedded systems, while preserving and enhancing the strengths of the Java Platform. The partnership is expected to help LynuxWorks customers enter a fast growing market for Java-powered embedded devices. Apogee's x86/LynxOS port of Sun's CDC J2ME Virtual Machine and Foundation Profile has been certified by Sun as CDC J2ME Platform compliant, making it the first production deployment of the certified CDC J2ME VM and FP in the industry. The partnership is expected to help LynuxWorks customers enter a fast growing market for Java-powered embedded devices.
