LynuxWorks has announced the first commercially available embedded Linux development environment for the Intel IOP321 I/O processor based on the Intel XScale technology. The optimized third-generation BlueCat development environment will be made available as part of the Intel IQ80321 Software Development Kit and as a separate storage and networking solution direct from LynuxWorks. The new Intel IOP321 I/O processor is ideal for designs with space constraints, which require high performance, low power consumption and manageable costs. Intel is targeting the use of the processor for both storage and networking embedded product applications.
