MontaVista Software Announces MontaVista Linux Professional Edition 3.0

MontaVista Software Inc., a leading global supplier of systems software for intelligent connected devices, has announced MontaVista Linux Professional Edition 3.0, the next generation of its cutting edge embedded operating system and development platform. The product offers enhanced networking capabilities, increased tools coverage and the latest Linux technology, enabling embedded equipment manufacturers to develop an even broader range of devices. MontaVista Linux Professional Edition 3.0 boasts the industry's most comprehensive embedded development package with broad support for embedded processor architectures, CPU boards and software components. It targets more than 25 processors from eight industry-leading architectures, including x86/IA-32, PowerPC, XScale, ARM, StrongARM, MIPS, SH and Xtensa. The product also expands support for a variety of GNU tool chains based on GDB 5.2 and GCC 3.2. MontaVista Linux Professional Edition 3.0 is available in December 2002 as a product subscription, providing customers with the MontaVista Linux kernel, utilities, development tools, software updates, access to the MontaVista Zone and access to technical support.
