LynuxWorks has announced two new pricing models for its LynxOS real-time operating system (RTOS). The first is an MSRP-based pricing model that aligns the price of LynxOS with the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of the end product in which it is embedded. This allows developers to select a high-performance RTOS without paying traditional volume-based royalty pricing, even for low-volume products. The second is a Developer Pack that offers free access to LynxOS source code, saving time and hassle throughout the application development and debugging process. These new programs build on LynuxWorks' reputation of delivering embedded solutions at aggressive price-points that make sense for customers' market needs.
