MontaVista Software Joins Open Mobile Alliance for Global Adoption of Open Standards in Mobile Phone Market

MontaVista Software has joined the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), a global organization that aims to foster worldwide growth in the mobile services market by defining an open standards-based framework for building, deploying and managing applications and services efficiently and reliably in a multi-vendor environment. The OMA comprises approximately 300 member companies covering the entire mobile services value chain, including major players such as Alcatel, AT&T Wireless Services, Cisco Systems, Nokia, Nortel Networks, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Sony, AOL Time Warner, Texas Instruments, Toshiba and Yamaha. MontaVista Software's senior product marketing manager Scott Hedrick stated that the company strongly believes in the benefits of open standards and looks forward to contributing to this initiative.
