MandrakeSoft has announced the release of Mandrake Linux 9.0 for Opteron processors based on AMD 64-bit technology. This version includes all the features currently available in Mandrake Linux 9.0 for x86, including a high-performance web server, ftp server, extended security services and databases. It also offers the famous 'Mandrake touch' on the desktop, making it one of the most easy-to-use Linux operating systems. The release will lead to planned releases in April 2003 of the 'Mandrake Linux Corporate Server 2.1' for AMD Opteron and 'MandrakeClustering' for Opteron in June 2003. Mandrake 9.0 for Opteron is one of the first operating systems available for the new AMD 64-bit processors.
