BP Executive to Reveal Secrets Behind Largest Intel Itanium(R) 2-based Linux Cluster for Seismic Research and Exploration

ClusterWorld Conference & Expo announced that 11 additional companies have signed up as new sponsors, including Topspin Communications and Ixia. BP executive Keith Gray was added to the speaker lineup and will discuss building the world's largest Intel Itanium 2-based Linux cluster. The conference is focused on clustered solutions in commercial, research and academic computing. BP uses a new high-performance computing (HPC) cluster of 259 HP rx5670 systems with more than 1,000 Itanium 2 processors to deliver clearer images of the earth's subsurface structures and hydrocarbons in a fraction of the time and cost of legacy systems. The conference will be held at the San Jose Convention Center in California from June 23-26.
