The Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), a global consortium of leading technology companies dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux, has confirmed that both OSDL and Linux creator Linus Torvalds have received subpoenas from attorneys for The SCO Group in their pending litigation with IBM.
The subpoenas request documents for use in the dispute. OSDL has agreed to fund legal representation for Torvalds and any other employees of the Lab who may become involved in the litigation. OSDL is represented by AterWynne LLP. OSDL is a non-profit organization that provides state-of-the-art computing and test facilities in the United States and Japan available to developers around the world. The consortium includes major IT industry leaders such as IBM, Intel, Cisco, Dell, and others.
