Five new institutional members were introduced at the October meeting of the Gelato Federation Strategy Council in Stockholm, Sweden. The open-source Linux-on-Itanium consortium now comprises 23 prestigious universities, national laboratories, and research installations from around the world. The new Federation members bring expertise to the Federation in the areas of box scalability, data-centric computing, and grid computing. Together with the other Federation members, Gelato is developing into a strong organization that will help accelerate the adoption of the Linux Itanium platform.
