Free Standards Group Recognized by ISO/IEC JTC 1 as Submitter of Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) for Linux

The Free Standards Group has been recognized by ISO/IEC JTC 1 as a submitter of Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) for Linux. This recognition is a significant milestone in the efforts to advance internationally recognized standards for Linux. The Linux Standard Base (LSB), developed and promoted by the Free Standards Group, enables binary compatibility across different Linux systems. The LSB has been adopted by every major Linux distribution vendor worldwide and is incorporated into the acquisition policies of leading IT organizations. In the coming months, the Free Standards Group and the LSB Workgroup will work to submit the LSB 2.0 to ISO/IEC JTC 1 for official recognition as a PAS.
