Linux Desktop Contest: Showcasing Open Source Talent

The open source community has created great software that rivals proprietary counterparts. The purpose of this contest is to demonstrate the skills of our leagues of gurus and talented artists, and make it easier for Mom and Pop PC stores and computer enthusiasts to sell customers on a Linux desktop. The contest will include a distro, hardware that works exceptionally well with said distro, logos, banner ads, flyers, and even a radio spot. The contest will be launched in early March and will be a multi-phase contest. The first phase will be a poll for which GNU/Linux distribution to use for this contest. Once the prizes have been determined, the next phase will be an appropriate logo. The final phase will be much more fast paced, as we will simultaneously run the flyer, banner ad, radio spot, and PC kit contest.
