The Linux distribution market has undergone significant changes, with Red Hat Software discontinuing its 'Retail/Community' distro in favor of an Enterprise distribution. The Linux Training Center has updated its course offerings to reflect the new realities among Linux Distributors and prepare IT professionals to support Suse Linux/Novell, Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Fedora. The Linux distribution market can be characterized into three major distribution types: Enterprise, Retail and Community. Enterprise distros provide organizations with service and support, while Retail distros are purchased at retail outlets and follow the Linux community's aggressive release schedule. Community distros contain cutting edge features but have limited support options. The Linux Training Center's new courses prepare IT professionals to become proficient users, administrators, and developers of Linux/Open Source Software.
