MEPISLite 3.3.1-2.test03 Released for Testing

MEPISLite 3.3.1-2.test03 is available for testing at the MEPIS Subscriber's Site and public mirrors. This is expected to be the final test release of MEPISLite 3.3.1-2, which includes a bug fix in the 'copy Desktop' function and a polished Desktop OnTheGo application.

The changes in 3.3.1-2 include pinning MEPISLite to the Debian 'testing' pool, updating packages to the latest versions, and bundling the basic Desktop OnTheGo application without AES encryption. MEPISLite offers two kernel options (2.4.29 and 2.6.10) and is designed for home users with as little as a 2 GB hard drive and a Pentium 2 processor with 128MB of RAM. The final version of MEPISLite will not be available for public download, but not-for-profit and other projects can contact erin@mepis.com to use it. Soon Technalign will begin shipping a boxed final version of MEPISLite called TaFusion MEPIS Lite OnTheGo. For more information, please contact Erin Melbert or Jenny Baker at news@mepis.com.
