Trolltech is solidifying its role as a Linux pioneer and proponent through ground-floor participation in two new Linux initiatives. Trolltech is a founding member of the Open Source Development Lab's (OSDL) new Mobile Linux Initiative and has joined the Free Standards Group (FSG) as an active participant in its new Linux Standard Base (LSB) Desktop Project. These projects have been created to help define and promote common standards for Linux for mobile devices and on the desktop, respectively. Trolltech develops leading technologies for Linux on the desktop and on mobile devices. The company's Qt software is a cross-platform application technology that has become the standard for commercial Linux desktop development. Trolltech's Qtopia technology is the most widely-used development environment and user interface for Linux-based products. Today, more than 75 vendors are designing, building or shipping devices built with Qtopia and related Trolltech software for embedded Linux.
