froglogic GmbH has pre-announced Squish/Web, a new edition of Squish that allows for testing interactive Web applications using the Squish test tool. Squish started out as a professional automated GUI test tool for applications based on Trolltech's Qt GUI toolkit and has since gained support for testing XView-based applications and Tcl/Tk applications. Currently, froglogic's engineers are working on Squish support for testing Web applications. Following froglogic's cross-platform philosophy, Squish/Web will support testing of HTML-based applications in different browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla/Firefox, Apple's Safari and KDE's Konqueror. Test engineers can now take advantage of Squish's powerful testing framework which allows to create robust and portable tests for Web applications. Squish/Web will be publicly released as a new edition of Squish 3.0 in Q2 2006.
