The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) and MySQL AB have announced a joint initiative to offer MySQL 5.0 certification exams through LPI's global proctor network, beginning with the C3 Expo in New York City.
The partnership will enable MySQL to work with a well-respected test delivery and certification organization that shares its goal of promoting open source professionalism through certification. LPI will offer both LPIC-1 exams (101 and 102) certification exams at C3 Expo, as well as exams for both MySQL 5.0 certifications (Developer and Database Administrator). The normal fee for LPI exams is $150 per exam, but they will be offered at a special 50% discount at this event for $75 each. As with LPI exams, all candidates can pay for their exams at the exam room by cash, check or credit card to the LPI proctor. Exam candidates must pre-register on the LPI website and bring valid photo identification and their LPI ID number to the exam events. More than 10,000 enterprise professionals from corporate business, finance, government, retail and education are expected at this year's C3 event in New York City.
