Cleversafe Launches New Open Source DSGrid File System for Linux-based Software Applications

The Cleversafe project has launched a new open source project called DSGrid File System, which allows a dispersed storage grid to appear as a mountable file system for Linux-based software applications. The new dsgfs project enables users to seamlessly store data on the Cleversafe Research Storage Grid or any other commercial or self-built grid. The Cleversafe Dispersed Storage technology uses Information Dispersal Algorithms (IDAsTM) to separate data into 11 unrecognizable DataSlicesTM and distribute them via secure Internet connections to 11 storage locations throughout the world. With dispersed storage, transmission and storage of data is inherently private and secure. The DSGrid File System project is available at http://www.cleversafe.org/dsgfs. Developers interested in joining any Cleversafe Project can sign up at http://www.cleversafe.org.
