Infobright Inc. has partnered with MySQL AB to integrate its innovative BrightHouse database engine with MySQL's database server. The partnership allows corporations to realize significant IT cost savings by archiving data from their existing data warehouses using BrightHouse's advanced compression technologies. BrightHouse compresses data at an average ratio of 10:1 (peak compression ratios exceed 30:1) and operates on commodity-based Intel hardware, allowing installation on existing, low-cost platforms. Infobright has also developed BrightWorks, a tool-set to effortlessly manage the data archiving process. The partnership was announced at The Data Warehousing Institute Conference in Orlando, Florida.
