Newest version of Zoom available for immediate download

The newest version of RotateRight's Zoom, a system-wide performance profiler for Linux, is available for immediate download from http://www.rotateright.com. Zoom is an essential performance analysis tool for all Linux developers and users. Version 1.5 features several enhancements to help increase programmer productivity and optimize Linux application performance.

This reduces costs by making software faster and more energy efficient. Zoom is available for $199 (USD) and offers a 30-day free evaluation period. Zoom profiles are system-wide, precise down to the instruction level, and capture backtraces. This lets you see exactly where time was spent, what code was running, and how that code was called. Zoom allows you to drill down into critical code to get detailed performance answers.

Zoom analyzes and annotates code with specific tuning advice for most compilers and processors. Zoom saves profiles as a single, self-contained session file that can be emailed or attached to bug reports. This lets you share data with colleagues or archive it for later review. Zoom also supports remote network profiling and scripting making it ideal for embedded or server systems and automated workflows. Major changes in version 1.5 include added profiling for ARM Linux, added ability to highlight performance warnings in code browser, added command-line profile summary option (--output_text), added option to not gather kernel / driver symbols, improved code browser navigation, and fixed timeout error when profiling for long durations. Zoom is available for Linux x86-64, i386, ARM and PowerPC 64.

Zoom installs and runs on all major Linux distributions including Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop/Server, and Ubuntu.
