The Open Mainframe Project, an innovative open source initiative bridging the gap between mainframe technology and the wider tech community, has announced the schedule for its 4th annual Open Mainframe Summit. This year's event will take place on September 11 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, co-located with IBM TechXchange Conference 2023 (July 11-14) and Open Source in Finance Forum in New York City on November 1.

The IBM TechXchange Conference offers a range of opportunities, including keynotes, hands-on experiences, product demonstrations, instructor-led labs, and certifications tailored to individual interests and learning styles. Open Mainframe Summit will be showcased as part of the Community Day on September 11.

The Las Vegas event boasts an impressive lineup of sessions covering topics such as COBOL programming, Feilong API for z/VM automation, workforce roles and skills, Zowe open tools, Linux distributions, and ISPF tools positioning for tomorrow. Some notable speakers include Sudharsana Srinivasan from IBM, Mike Friesenegger of SUSE, John Lovett from Broadcom, Joe Winchester from IBM, Jan Prihoda from Broadcom, and Michael Fontanetta from Ensono.

The Open Mainframe Project extends gratitude to the planning committee members: Alan Clark from SUSE, Donna Hudi from Phoenix Software International, Elizabeth K. Joseph from IBM, Len Santalucia from Vicom Infinity, Mike Siemasz from Rocket Software, and Rose Sakach from Broadcom.

Open Mainframe Summit aims to connect and inform all those interested in the mainframe ecosystem, including students, developers, corporate leaders, users, and contributors.
