Global Tech Leaders to Headline Inaugural WasmCon, Uniting Developers and Exploring the Transformative Power of WebAssembly

In a groundbreaking event for the tech community, The Linux Foundation has announced the keynote speakers for WasmCon 2023. Scheduled for September 6-7 at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, Washington, this inaugural conference aims to bring together developers, engineers, architects, and users interested in WebAssembly (Wasm) to foster collaboration, education, and innovation.
Leading the lineup are industry luminaries such as Chris Aniszczyk, CTO of Cloud Native Computing Foundation; Brendan Burns, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Azure OSS and Cloud Native; Saúl Cabrera, Staff Developer at Shopify; Bailey Hayes, Engineering Director at Cosmonic; Tatsuya Kato, CEO of Midokura; Dan Mihai Dumitriu, CTO of Midokura; Liam Randall, CEO of Cosmonic; and Emily Ruppel, Research Scientist at Robert Bosch LLC.
The comprehensive two-day event will feature a diverse range of programming, including keynotes, technical sessions, and interactive workshops. Industry technologists will lead these discussions, covering topics such as cloud, emerging technologies, tooling and ecosystems, real-world use cases, and security. Some session highlights include "JavaScript Toolchain for WebAssembly Components" by Guy Bedford of Fastly and "Security and Correctness in Wasmtime" by Nick Fitzgerald, TSC Chair at Bytecode Alliance.
WasmCon will also host co-located events and workshops, including Rust Global, a Rust Foundation event, and the "Componentize the World Hackathon" hosted by Bytecode Alliance. Registration for WasmCon is available now through August 23 for US$499, with special rates for hobbyists, academics, and students.
