Linux Foundation and CNCF Unite for Open Source Telecom Cloud Native Networking

The Linux Foundation and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) have announced a new initiative to advance open source telecom cloud native networking. This collaboration will bring together thought leaders from the industry to work towards a unified approach for the adoption of Cloud Native technology in networking. The initiative aims to accelerate the transformation of the telecommunications industry by developing additional guidelines and tools for the Cloud Native Networking transformation. Under this new initiative, the Linux Foundation will take the lead on domain-specific networking initiatives, while CNCF will oversee comprehensive, cross-domain cloud native endeavors. The collaboration will also include a certification program to build on the foundations of LFN and CNCF certification programs and extend to address the evolving requirements of Cloud Native Network Functions. Additionally, a Cloud Native Networking Test Catalog will be developed to provide a robust testing framework and comprehensive suite of functional, non-functional, and end-to-end tests. The community is invited to attend an Alignment Workshop on Tuesday, November 7 to be part of the planning and collaboration of the new Cloud Native Networking Program.
